My Thoughts: What can I say about The Naughty List that hasn't already been said? A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I loved it! It was so cute! The references were cute! There were so many little one liners like "Strawberry Smoothie." The relationships were cute! The friendships were cute! The Naughty List was adorable! We are introduced to Tessa Crimson who is the head cheerleader of SOS and also the head spy of their secret group! They investigate boyfriends of cheating! Tessa is very determined to be wrong about any guy brought to their attention! She wants to know there is one boy out there besides Aiden who is clean and won't cheat on his girlfriend. I loved their investigations and the dilemma's they got themselves into. I loved how Tessa would dress in black clothes to make her more covert. I also loved the cheater reports! They were very clever.
Tara is fun loving and has a great attitude. She fights for what she wants, and accomplishes it.
Tessa is also dating Aiden and has been for 2 years now. They are the perfect couple and are very happy together. The problem? Tessa hates lying to Aiden about her double life. He does not know anything about her investigations! I loved Aiden! He was so very sweet and he even would paint Tessa's toenails! Where do I get a boyfriend like that? He was perfect. He would never cheat on her, right? A new boy and girl enter the school. Christian and Chloe, brother and sister and a handful of trouble. We notice that Christian has his eyes set on Tessa and Chloe seems to always be talking to Aiden a lot more than she should be.
Christian is always flirting with Tessa, and Tessa does her best to ignore him. She feels a little bit of spark towards him but definitely not enough to do anything about it. Yes, he's handsome but he's no Aiden. She loves Aiden. She starts to notice that Aiden seems distant and he is spending more and more time with Chloe.
Than what happens? She gets a report to SOS that Aiden is cheating on her with Chloe and she starts to doubt his feelings and starts to spy on him. Christian ends up helping her but Tessa realizes things aren't always what they appear to be.

The Naughty List Suzanne Young Books Reviews
As a parent, you might want to read this book to make sure you find it appropriate for your child's age. Just a concern before purchasing this book for a gift or even to give to your own child to read.
It was a good read until the end. I found it a little unbelievable and a tad confusing with the way things ended
This book deserves way more attention than it gets.
The Naughty List is a fun and flirty read, just what I needed after finishing my last YA book.
The premise is very simple. Tessa Crimson is head cheerleader but she is also the ringleader for a very important, but secretive, school service. She leads SOS which helps high school girls find out if their boyfriends are cheating. Fortunately for Tessa, she has a great boyfriend who adores her and would never cheat on her. Right? The more Tessa investigates the cheating habits of her high school classmates, the more pessimistic she becomes. Could Aiden be hiding something from her?
While reading this, I couldn't help but get the impression that this book is kind of like a romance novel in reverse. At story's beginning, Tessa has an amazing boyfriend and life, kind of like her happily-ever-after, already, but by story's end, things are not so simple and happy.
I really enjoyed this book. It's a nice light read but it also has enough depth where I don't feel like I'm reading the equivalent of cotton candy. Most notably, it has Tessa who starts off feeling entirely certain and in control of her world, and as the book goes on, finds out that her world is spiraling out around her. Despite this, I really felt like Tessa developed into a stronger character by story's end. She had to start relying on herself more, and much as she loved Aiden, she started to realize she had to figure out who she was without him.
And I mentioned how fun this book is, right? Because I really enjoyed the amateur spying techniques of the Smitten Kittens. I mean, they had a grappling hook! How very her awesome is that? The memos interspersed throughout the text are also funny and sad. It certainly did seem like a high percentage of males at that school cheated, yikes!
I also liked the female friendship aspects of the story. Even when Tessa was around a girl she didn't like, one in particular who was gunning for Aiden, she managed to keep a smile on her face and some measure of politeness. There wasn't a whole lot of catty behavior which was a nice change of pace from some of the "mean girl-esque" novels I've read.
I do want to say, from a librarian's point of view, rather than my own personal enjoyment factor, that some parents may have issues with this book because while it is not explicit by any means, there's quite a bit of sex going on with the main character. I thought the author handled the subject very well and let's face it; sex is a reality of teenage years, no matter how many parents want to shield their teens. But, it is an issue that I can see cropping up in a public library setting.
Aiden also calls Tessa "Baby" quite a bit as a term of endearment. I don't mind it but I can see some readers being annoyed with that. However, this book is written for teens and heck, that's how teen guys talk sometimes to be cutesy so I felt it was realistic.
I'm already anxious to read the second book in the series, So Many Boys A Naughty List Novel which comes out in July, then the third book, A Good Boy is Hard to Find (Naughty List). I expect even more growth of Tessa as a character and hopefully, a happy ending for a couple I really like.
The Naughty List is the debut book from Suzanne Young, and this is the first in a series. Just after hearing the synopsis I had to read this novel. I thought the idea of cheerleaders doubling as spies to catch cheating boyfriends was a very original idea, and I was not disappointed.
Tessa Crimson is the captain of the Smitten Kittens (also S.O.S the cheating agency) who's dating captain of the basketball team, Aiden. She thinks everything's perfect until she gets an S.O.S text stating that Aiden is suspected of cheating on her. Now she's left with the decision, should she spy on Aiden or trust him?
The Naughty List was a fun little read, and Tessa was a entertaining character to follow (even if her perkiness did bug me a little as the story progressed). I love how Tessa didn't like to use cuss words so used words like "strawberry-smoothie" to show how displeased she is. And, some of her exclamations just made me laugh like "Gingersnaps!"
There are enough twists and turns throughout the story to keep anyone guessing about how it's going to end. I'm looking forward to the next few installments (So many Boys and A Good Boy is Hard to Find are already scheduled for release later this year).
