Bite at First Sight is my favorite of the series! Science! Betrayal! Romance! Rafael is investigating the reports of vampire hunters lingering in the cemetery where some of the vampires wait out the daylight hours. There he finds Cassandra with a shovel! But she doesn't even know vampires exist until he approaches her. She's just there to dig up a body to study as she's training herself to be a doctor. Now Rafael has a problem, because he exposed his people's secret, so Cassandra either must be changed or killed.

Of course, Cassandra isn't going to die! Bite at First Sight finds her kept prisoner by Rafe, and has a bit of a Beauty and the Beast vibe. Rafe is not exactly accepted by polite London society because of his scarred face and disabled arm. He's also a boxer, and tends to be quite rude when others approach him. However, Cassandra couldn't be any more excited to make his acquaintance! Imagine what she can learn about healing by experimenting with his blood! Not to mention she can practice surgery and better her understanding of muscles by attempting to fix his arm. Rafe doesn't want to be a lab rat, but he agrees to do so if she'll kiss him. Not too high of a price, since Cassandra plans to seduce him anyway.

Aside from the romance, Bite at First Sight also has a pretty strong central plot. Someone is hoping to discredit Rafael and have him removed as Lord Vampire of London. Obviously they want to rule in his place, and are using any means necessary to do it. They stage a kidnapping of one of their own, write to the elders that Cassandra is planning to publish all of their secrets, and plan a battle! Not only does Rafe have to figure out what to do with Cassandra, but he has to stop innocent vampires from dying!

I really enjoyed Bite at First Sight. It kept me smiling from the first chapter. Cassandra's enthusiasm for science is infectious, and I loved that she wasn't letting society's rigid barriers keep her from pursuing her dream. Sure, she can only treat her servants--and now vampires--but she's doing what she loves. Rafe isn't as prickly as he came across in the previous book; he just rejects people before they can reject him. Also, if you're looking for an interracial romance, Rafe is of mixed race. He's half Spanish and half Native American.

I have enjoyed reading this series of books very much. This one is my favorite thus far. If you enjoy historical sensuous romance and paranormal books, you will absolutely enjoy reading this book.
I could read these books by Ann Brooklyn for days on end. She really knows how to capture the readers mind.
I have read all of Brooklyn Ann books and they are great. This story in particular shows exactly how women were treated in that era. Rafe and Cassandra are made for each other. She improves his life and he does alot to make her dreams come true. Great story can't wait for more.
My first read from this author... I am amazed I haven't read her works before. Her characters are richly developed from her primary to her secondary.. I wasn't certain I would like vampires and regency together but her story developed smoothly combining the two. Excellent read...
Brave Mrs ann shows us the vampires can feel and emotions different books where they are cruel monsters and enjoy their cruelty. I have read those books and throught in the recycling bin and never read that king ones. I read the two previous books and I will continue reading others books. I recommends Ann books and for the readers who likes cruel vamps this book is not for you. Congratulations few authors a talent for a vamp of this kind.
This is the 3rd book in the series “Scandals with Bite” and to date this is the best in the series so far. Rafael is sarcastic and stoic in turns, which frustrates Cassandra’s scientific mind to no end. Cassandra’s medical background wants to experiment on Rafael’s useless, burned arm and scarred face. The tension rides high in this story. The author really pulled this one off. Much more chemistry between Rafael and Cassandra than any of the previous books heroes and heroines. The characters were much more polished and multi-leveled.
Bite at First Sight, was a very interesting and enjoyable Paranormal Regency Romance story.

Cassandra Burton the Dowager Countess of Rosslyn is exhuming corpse's from the cemetery to study She is whats to study medicine but has been refused by Oxford, Cambridge and other medical schools becasue of course she is female. This was unheard of in the 1800's.

Rafael Villar is the Spanish Vampire Lord of London. He runs across Cassandra at the cemetery trying to exhume a body. He arrest her becasue this is resting site of Vampires and someone has been dissecting them.

Rafael lets Cassandra do medical experiment on him with much success. There is a lot of sexual tension between them, which involves into love. Rafael has a plotter in his midst to take him down and take over his positions as Lord Vampire of London. This conflict brings about good twist and turns and adds suspense to the story.

The story has lots of well written characters. Good plots and good amount of sensual tension It also, gives the reader enough back story to make it a good stand alone. But I suggest you read the other 2 books in the series for enjoyable reading experience. I highly Recommend Love at First Sight.
